International PyData summit in Madrid

The first PyData event in Spain was held between 8 and 10 April in Madrid, specifically in the BBVA Innovation Centre and in the prestigious arena that is the Madrid Google Campus. This conference was organized by the Spanish Python Community, under NumFocus supervision, and served as a meeting point for users and developers of data analysis tools in Python language.

Python is a general-purpose language that is designed to be simple and expressive, based mainly on its transparency and readability. Its greatest asset is its application to large software programs, as proven by the use that large companies such as YouTube, Google and Instagram make of it in their software. The purpose of these presentations is none other than to create a space where both professionals and fans can share their ideas to use the tools of the language and approach the challenge of the constant evolution of data management and processing with a greater chance of success.

It is important to stress that the audience of PyData comes not only from Python. There is also a new generation of languages and technologies that are equally important and that were also addressed in PyData Madrid 2016, such as R, Julia and Scala.

Nfq had the privilege of participating in PyData Madrid 2016 as Guillem Borrell collaborated as an expert presenting the working session: Python for Distributed Systems.
